Battery storage for business
Store power when it is there and use it when you need it, without your connection having to be upgraded.
Your connection does not limit how much electricity you use in a year, it limits how much you may draw at any one moment. That difference is where nearly every capacity problem comes from: it is rarely about the total, it is about the twenty minutes when everything runs at once.
A battery solves that by supplying the peak from storage instead of from the grid.
What it actually does
During the day, or at the moments when there is room, the battery charges. When your consumption threatens to go through your contracted capacity, it steps in. The grid sees a flat line; you have the capacity you needed.
That is the same technique behind a charging hub running on an existing connection, and behind a production line that would otherwise not manage its start-up peak.
When it pays for itself
In three ways, and which one weighs heaviest depends on your situation.
You do not have to upgrade. A heavier connection is a large one-off cost and in much of the country carries a waiting time of years. Skipping that investment and that wait is often the largest item.
Your peak tariff drops. On a large-scale connection you pay for the highest quarter of an hour you drew. Every kilowatt you take off that, you stop paying for a year at a time.
You use what you generate. With solar panels, what you generate during the day and do not use now goes to the battery instead of onto the grid for a low fee.
When it does not add up
If your consumption is flat. A battery earns on the difference between peak and trough; if that difference is small, there is nothing to earn and an expensive cabinet stands idle.
If upgrading is possible and quick. In some areas there is room on the grid, and then a heavier connection is simply cheaper. We work that out before proposing anything, and if that is the answer, you hear it.
That is why every project starts with a measurement of your consumption pattern and not with a quote. Without it, any capacity is a guess, and a battery bought too large never pays for itself.
In which form
There are three versions, and the choice is mostly about space and about whether it has to be able to move: a cabinet for indoors or against a facade, a container for larger peaks, and a mobile unit for temporary situations.
